humans have built such enormous prisons for themselves - cages of wealth, craving, and endless piles of things, things, things. if i were to acquire some vast fortune, i genuinely believe i wouldn’t buy lots of stuff with it - i would want to do something really interesting, like help our species get to mars, or develop a means for producing free energy.
i feel so outside of much of what i conceive to be the human experience - love, religion, materialism - with just a moment of objectivity, the rituals seem utterly meaningless. i just want to be. to surround myself with that which gives me simple pleasure and encourages thoughtful reflection.
