i had a moment of complete unawareness of myself or anyone else this afternoon. it was wonderful, and i realized it had not happened in years.

In the next world war
in a jack knifed juggernaut,
I am born again.
In the neon sign,
scrolling up and down,

In a fast German car,
I’m amazed that I survived,

love is the opposite of fear.

blood smells like copper, and tastes like iron.

when we are with someone whose behavior is upsetting, often we feel we have but three choices: convince them to behave otherwise, convince ourselves that we can deal with it, or leave the situation entirely.
depending on the nature of the behavior, this may be the extent of our options. furthermore:

it is said that if we are not allowed to dream, we will eventually go mad. this suggests that the act of dreaming (for our brains, at least) is a type of eating, or otherwise consuming - no food, and the mind starves to death.
