from my mother:

Woke up at three and made birds.
No, I don’t know why,
They are sticky and soulless now
But I will add life to them later,
After they dry.

Yesterday I tackled my old nemesis,
There are places now
In coats where buttons go snugly
I can make moss green larger needs be
You can decide

We need a final try on this weekend,
So I can do hems.
I started a slip, but need the dress to finish.
And my brain is less than perfect at 5:24
So I quit trying to rhyme, or even meter.

It’s amazing how much time I spent writing yesterday,
and still made cookies and coats and slips.
I posted some things on the blog
if you want to see how it went.

I’m buying all final food this weekend, except fresh
and Dad finally realized he needs a rather large suit
And wants to find it on sale
In time for the ceremony
I only wish he didn’t snore.

I may have to go with the dress I got on ebay,
but it’s too dark
and I need shoes and jewelry
not to mention better sense
Than to write email at this hour with no sleep.

How does son and daughter-in-luv work for you?
I rather like the sound
and I am still grasping for words to explain how we are related.

Hugs from MOM

keepin’ it real in 1999!

my folks and joriel’s folks and joriel and i all spent the weekend together at the foltz estate. it was good to have our parents together, interacting and getting to know one another. excellent food was prepared by papa foltz, and all in all it was a happy visit – hopefully the first of many.
