scott headed back to richmond today, though only after many trials and tribulations regarding the flight – there was a fuel leak, and he ended up spending the night in chicago. fie! home safe eventually though.

who should appear in seattle this very day but another visitor, jennifer! she is our 6th since we moved here last july. besides seeing wonderful us, she has come to see the musical of ‘the wedding singer’, this its last weekend in seattle before heading to her turf on broadway; she’ll be working it and wanted to see it here, as well as say hello to one of the stars, laura.

jennifer picked an interesting weekend to visit; besides the aforementioned show (which was delightful), she was able to attend the Sparklemotion party and the Twin Peaks party with us. the former included antics by we three and karoake of inconsistent quality by others; the latter featured accompanying cherry pie, donuts and coffee.

we spent saturday driving about the city, allowing time for jennifer to eat recommended chicken and visit her own giant head on display. the weekend was completed by trips to places old and new; check it, fool.

happy valentine’s day – with scott! he’s in town for a convention, and crashing with us until friday. good times! i drove him haphazardly around the city to give him the lay of the land, this being his first visit to the emerald city. we took him to teapot on his last night for excellent food together. unfortunately it was a quick visit, but better than none says me. pictures to come.

final call of the day, logout, click and close, seeyalatrfools. assembling coat and hat and gloves as i head for the lift; inevitable confusion of normals between lunch and leaving already? i laugh a yeah, and head down to the blue-sky streets, rain or shine. two steps at a time, i leisurely rush to the stop, maybe to coffee (o the sweetjoy of soycaf, honey and hazelnut), then peoplewatch for fifteen. come bus (unlike its night cousin) a swift gallop to the hill, filled with bright and sunnys and pardon-mes. i drift off, my head slumped and bumping against the glass, until the last stop awakes, and i’m out and amble past the market, or into, for sandwich, oranges, cream, surrounded by busy afternoons when inside i’m effortless odd and evening. rounding the corner, where the night’s morning found me dazed and bemused, what joy to see the snowcapped mountainwall that surrounds this fair city! what privilege to witness prophet rainier, sitting sagely in his court, clouds attending! what wonder to gaze at my sister moon, sublime and silent observing over head and feet, as i return to cat, and later girl, on deck of the ship of the world, sailing slowly around a distant sun.

at work, on eternal hold with our DSL vendor, listening to a muzaked version of ‘don’t cry for me argentina’. it’s all been leading up to this, my friends.
