Happy Spring Equinox, all! Let the mental fertility rites begin.
Time to open your windows and doors, even if it’s still a little too cold for comfort. The sun will warm you in time. Those old leaves gotta either blow or burn, my friend.
Another delightful morning at the Pacific Science Center with my boy. I love what a curious little sponge he is, absorbing all the so-called wisdom from his dad on days like this when he has oh so many questions. Is our spine a snake? How does food make my legs work? When can we go to Mars together? And so on. He’s already smarter than us…
Passed my old binoculars along to Sagan today. He’s just barely old enough for them, but it’s a good place to start in regards to taking responsibility for the care of a breakable thing. He loves them, and wants to keep using them; thus, he will be made mindful of the consequences if he can’t anymore because they got busted. They’re pretty sturdy, though – mostly metal. We’re planning on employing them for stargazing once the night skies are clear – he’s developing a solid love for things astronomical that I (of course) plan to encourage at every opportunity, just like dad did for me.
There are few greater sights than the heavens above; few wonders that can universally inspire us to feel so small, yet so connected to something greater than ourselves. I hope it can offer him at least the same joy as it has for me over the course of my life.
